~ FOREST RESTORATION AND PROTECTION ~

We’re a forestry products company - there’s no question that almost all our products use trees.  Some of them use wood from trees that are quickly being depleted. We’re committed to preserving forests around the world. In appreciation of our customers we will plant one tree for every instrument that we sell.

Here are a few ways you can help restore the balance of our planet’s forests:

Jewish National fund

For decades Israel has been the only country in the world to plant more trees than it cuts down - largely through the efforts of the tree planting programs of the Jewish National Fund. You can be part of this amazing revitalization of the desert.

The National Arbor Day Foundation does a tremendous job planting trees. They also promote tree planting and forest stewardship throughout the world.

You can plant trees in the U.S. National forests at: http://www.arborday.org/join/tictim/
You can save parts of the world’s rain forests at:  www.arborday.org/shopping/donations/orderrfr.cfm

PERNAMBUCO

Most bows for stringed instruments are made from Pernambuco. This has been the standard wood for bows for centuries. Unfortunately, this tree, also known as Pau-Brasil is close to extinction.
One of the most important things you can do to help preserve Pernambuco is: Take Good Care of Your Bow! You can preserve your bow for future generations simply by being careful with it! If your bow stays in good condition - that’s one bow that does not need to be replaced with a new bow. You can support reforestation efforts of Pernambuco and find more information at:

CLEAN AIR

Electricity

We have committed our business to using wind generated electricity and are Certified Green Power Partners with the U.S. EPA. We are quite possibly the only violin shop in the world to utilize only wind generated electricity!
Details on the 'WindSource' program can be found Here
